Carolina Trust Federal Credit Union Partners with Carolinas Credit Union Foundation for a Community Service Scholarship and a Legacy Scholarship

Carolina Trust is proud to announce their new partnership with the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation for a Community Service Scholarship and a Legacy Scholarship.

Applicants are evaluated by the Carolina Trust Federal Credit Union and Carolinas Credit Union Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee based on grade point average, participation in school clubs and activities, community and volunteer involvement, and their response to an online essay question. In addition to the four key areas, the Scholarship Selection Committee also recognizes that college is overwhelmingly expensive for many. To help, the Foundation’s scholarship application portal includes a financial need section.

Key Scholarship

Carolina Trust Federal Credit Union and HTC, Inc. have partnered to offer scholarship awards to two graduating high school seniors within Horry, Georgetown, Marion, Williamsburg, or the southern part of Florence County. Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to two rising college freshmen attending either Coastal Carolina University or Francis Marion University for their four-year degree. The scholarships may be renewed for three consecutive years in the amount of $500 per year should the award recipients continue to meet qualifying criteria. The total scholarship amount each student may receive over a four-year period is $2,500. All materials must be postmarked by March 3, 2023.The two scholarship recipients for the 2022-2023 academic year will be announced in May 2023. Santa's Village Toy Drive

For the fifth year, Carolina Trust is partnering with the Horry County Sheriff's Office and KingOne Properties International to assist with the annual Santa's Village Toy Drive. As part of our partnership, we will accept toy donations for the program at our Horry County branches. We donated gift cards, which will be given to older children and used to purchase gifts on children's wish lists this year.

Surfside Rotary Turkey Trot

We were a proud sponsor of the Surfside Area Rotary Turkey Trot! A few of our staff members participated in the event and had a great time running alongside so many others!

Important IRA Tax Withholding Information

Payments from your IRA are subject to federal income tax withholding, unless you elect no withholding. You may change your withholding election at any time prior to your receipt of a payment. To change your withholding election, complete the appropriate form provided by your Credit Union. Withholding from IRA payments, when combined with other withholding, may relieve you from payment of estimated income taxes. However, your withholding election does not affect the amount of income tax you pay.
