Carolina Trust Federal Credit Union Continues Annual Veterans Scholarship
For the third year in a row, Carolina Trust Federal Credit Union will continue the Carolina Trust Federal Credit Union Annual Veterans Scholarship in honor of Lieutenant Colonel James B. Kendrick, USAF/Retired. The scholarship will go to Veterans Services at Coastal Carolina University, to help support military veterans and participants in the ROTC program.

Carolina Trust Federal Credit Union Appoints Surfside Branch Manager
Carolina Trust Federal Credit Union is pleased to welcome Colleen Caranfa as the new Branch Manager at our Surfside Branch.
Caranfa comes to Carolina Trust from M&T Bank in Connecticut, where she served as AVP/Branch Manager. Caranfa has 18 years of experience in the banking industry, and is excited to join the credit union movement, and bring her upbeat personality and extensive customer service background to our members.
Carolina Trust Federal Credit Union Announces Employee Promotion
Andrea Chatland was recently promoted to Member Service Center Manager.
Chatland joined the credit union as a Teller at our Surfside Branch in 2011 and has held the role of Member Service Center Phone Agent since the center's creation in 2017.
“Andrea is an invaluable member of our team who we appreciate for more than just her work. We also want to celebrate her character and her positive work ethics that she brings to the credit union. A person like Andrea always stands behind her team in good and hard times! We couldn’t have asked for a better team leader,” said Audrey Turner, VP Member Experience.

Key Scholarship
Carolina Trust Federal Credit Union and HTC, Inc. have partnered to offer scholarship awards to two graduating high school seniors within Horry, Georgetown, Marion, Williamsburg, or the southern part of Florence County. Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to two rising college freshmen attending either Coastal Carolina University or Francis Marion University for their four-year degree. The scholarships may be renewed for three consecutive years in the amount of $500 per year should the award recipients continue to meet qualifying criteria. The total scholarship amount each student may receive over a four-year period is $2,500. All materials must be postmarked by March 4, 2022.The two scholarship recipients for the 2022-2023 academic year will be announced in May 2022. On a recent segment of Living Local Carolina, we had our October Living Local Carolina Financial Friday Community Panel, featuring special guests Susan Branstrom from Caring in Our Lifetime and Michael King, CEO/Founder of King One Properties International who is the Co Chair of Family Justice Center of Horry County.
To raise awareness for Down Syndrome, Carolina Trust employees and friend of the credit union, Luke proudly displayed their blue and yellow. In addition, Carolina Trust made a donation to the Grand Strand Down Syndrome Society. For more information about Down Syndrome and how to raise awareness, click here.
Leadership Conference
At our recent Annual Leadership Conference, employees participated in several group activities where they had the opportunity to win money for a charity of their choice. Carolina Trust made donations to the following selected charities: Ground Zero, Coastal Animal Rescue, and Fostering Hope.

How to Honor Veterans All Year Long, Not Just on Veterans Day
On Veterans Day, we close businesses, post on social media, and acknowledge and glorify our Veterans; But how are we thanking them on the other 364 days of the year? Are we celebrating and acknowledging just during the special occasion, the way we do with most other holidays, and then moving on as soon as the decorations come down? How can we continue to honor the men and women who have served our country in our day-to-day lives?

The holidays are quickly approaching and so could mounting monthly expenses. To help provide some holiday relief, you may choose to skip your Carolina Trust loan payment during December 2021 or January 2022 for just $25.00.*
*The $25 fee must be received before the payment date will be changed. I understand by electing to participate in the Holiday Skip-A-Payment Program, interest will continue to accrue on my outstanding principal balance at the contractual interest rate, and the term of my loan may be extended. All terms and conditions will remain the same, but the final payment or maturity date of my loan may be different because of my Holiday Skip-A-Payment. I understand that the terms of any Credit Life and/or Disability Insurance coverage, GAP, Extended Warranty, or any other payment collateral protection coverages purchased in connection with the original obligation will not be extended for the additional term provided with this authorization. Modified loans, mortgage loans, home equity loans or lines of credit, previously modified loan, personal line of credit and VISA Credit Card payments are not eligible. The loan must not have been delinquent in the past twelve months and must be open for at least 6 months. Other restrictions may apply.

Monthly deposits may be made via direct deposit, payroll deduction, or at the Credit Union.
